Vali Nasr

Vali Nasr is Professor of International Politics at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy of Tufts University; an adviser to President Obama’s administration on Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan; and former Adjunct Senior Fellow for Middle Eastern Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. He is the author of Democracy in Iran, The Islamic Leviathan, and the New York Times bestseller The Shia Revival. He regularly appears as an expert on Middle Eastern affairs on major television news networks, and writes for the New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal. Born in Iran, Nasr now lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife, two sons, and daughter.
