A radical retreat designed to fix the epidemic of teenage unhappiness turns sinister in Josh Silver’s dark and electrifying YA debut HappyHead.
Waterstones Deansgate are delighted to offer this exclusive opportunity to join Manchester-based author and mental health nurse Josh Silver as he’s interviewed by actor and producer Taron Egerton.
Josh and Taron will discuss HappyHead, described by Taron as ‘dark and thrilling’, exploring the pressures placed on teens through the relentless pursuit of ‘happiness’, how this impacts mental wellbeing, and the inspirations behind the book.
Josh Silver grew up on a farm in the Lake District before moving to Manchester with his family, where he spent his teenage years loving the city. He moved to London to train at RADA as an actor, and has performed in the West End and on Broadway. After deciding to change careers, Josh began training as a mental health nurse and at the same time started writing his first book. Josh lives in Manchester with his boyfriend and their dog Dodger.
Taron Egerton is an award-winning actor whose versatile and charismatic performances continuously capture audiences around the world. Egerton garnered numerous accolades for his portrayal as the iconic singer Sir Elton John in Dexter Fletcher’s Rocketman for Paramount Pictures, including the Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy. Currently, Egerton stars in Black Bird, a limited series drama for Apple TV alongside Paul Walter Hauser and the late Ray Liotta, in which Egerton also produced.
